About Me

My name is Femy. I work full time as a government employee. I live in Belleville, Ontario with my husband Rick and 2 kids Chelson and Jared and of course our 2 cats cuddles and skip. I love to create. I love to quilt, machine embroidery, cross stitch and card making, beading. I also like to write poems, short and longs ones :). Sometime in 2008, I was introduced to rubber stamps. I’ve been making cards for a while but have never used stamps before. I was also introduced to markers called Copics and started using them May 2009. Now I am hooked. So here in this place I call my own, I will share with you what I create and hope I inspire you to do a little creating yourself.

Retirement in Style

I wanted to share this card with you. Yup,  another easel card.   My friend and co-worker is retiring after 38 years the end of February and I wanted to make her a card. I wanted the card to showcase someone having fun with what she is doing or going to be doing.   Well, this image  is the one that caught my eye.   I have these Anya stamp sets that I have never used before. I think it is just the right stamp for this card. I am very surprised as it turned our pretty much what I wanted it to.  This never happens to me,  specially when I am in a rush to make a card.  What was really amazing is I finished this in less than an hour, last night.  Now that was pretty quick.  I did have help.  Thank you Friday Sketchers for an awesome sketch.   When I saw the sketch, I thought,  this is  it.  So, an hour later I have my card ready for posting.  This is the time  my stomach cramps started.  I wanted to post the card so I went ahead to make sure my images were all done and ready.  Then, all of a sudden my puter shut down.  I was in so much pain last night, I didn’t bother to power the comp again.  Yes, I didn’t save anything, and yes I was pulling my hair, and of course talking to myself again and you all know what else.   not just because of the pain but because I forgot to save again.  So starting today, I will keep in mind to save every so often. I will be giving this card to  Ann, my friend tomorrow before her party. I won’t be able to stay for her party as I am scheduled for training for work all afternoon when her party is ongoing….Anyway, here is a closer look at Anya.

I am glad to finally have this card posted.  I was even able to enter this into some challenges:

Friday Sketcher – Sketch

Anyone for Anya– Something completely different.   I have a few out of the ordinary thing for this card.  First this is the 1st time I am using this stamp.  My first time to enter into this challenge.  Another,  only used one paper. It is not easy for me to use only one paper   I love collage, remember. Next, 1st time to use my crocheted flowers. Why,  well I wasn’t too happy with how the flowers turn out.  The crocheted hearts were okay to me.  So now you tell me, I really hope they look okay.   Next, this is only the 2nd  time for me to use brads, ribbon/bow and flower all together in one card.  I still have trouble using ribbons/bow even with my bow easy.  I also have trouble putting all these embellish together.  I hope this will count.

ABC Challenge – O for One paper.

Totally Gorjuss – Flower power

Cute Card Thursday– Metal Mania, just 2 itty biity brads on the sentiment, “Happy Retirement”
